Refinishing and Recoating
Over time, hardwood floors can become scratched, stained, and dull.
If you have hardwood floors that are in need of a refresh, there are two main options: refinishing and recoating. Both refinishing and recoating involve sanding down the existing finish and then applying a new layer of protection.
Refinishing
The main difference is that refinishing also involves sanding down the top layer of wood to expose fresh wood beneath. This can give your floors a completely new look, but it is a more invasive and expensive process.
Recoating
Recoating simply involves applying a new layer of finish to the existing wood. This can help to cover up minor scratches and stains, and it can also make your floors look shiny and new again. If your hardwood floors are in need of a little TLC, consider refinishing or recoating them to give them a fresh new look.
